Executives
David made his name in the UK on shows such as the BAFTA and Emmy-nominated series The Hip Hop Years - which he series produced, directed and narrated - and the 4-part BBC series Windrush, winner of a Royal Television Society Award for Best Documentary Series. Starting at the BBC as a Production Trainee, David directed a range of top quality documentaries, including the highly-acclaimed Vietnam: The Camera At War. He was also a Producer/Director on Decisive Weapons - a co-production between the BBC and US broadcaster A&E. After leaving the BBC, David devised and produced Kings of Black Comedy, which ran as a 6-part series on Comedy Central in the US. David joined Lion in 2002, and has made documentaries such as The True Face Of War (winner of a CINE Special Jury Award, a BANFF World Television Award and a World Medal at the New York Film Festival), Natural Born Americans, and The Gospel of Gospel (featuring Ray Charles, BB King and Chaka Khan). He has originated a range of current affairs shows in the UK and he devised and executive produced the BBC reality show Career Boot Camp. He has also overseen two seasons of the Emmy Award-winning drama-documentary series Days That Shook The World for the BBC and the History Channel in the USA. And he was responsible for Outbreak Investigations - a major series of six drama-documentaries on disease epidemics for National Geographic International.
