Lion Interactive
Kirsty Hunter is an experienced broadcast and interactive producer. Her most recent project was overseeing and producing all the interactive content for the BBC One/Three series Castaway. This included the website, daily red button programme Danny's Diary and the interactive game, Castaway: Remote Control. She was also the series producer of Castaway: The Best of Danny's Diary (BBC Three). Another recent project was overseeing the non-linear production for UKTV’s Britain's Best which included bespoke video, short films and content for web and mobile. A trained journalist, Kirsty holds a Bachelor of Business degree in journalism and started her television career at Australia’s then most popular current affairs programme A Current Affair. After stints radio reporting at the ABC and producing lifestyle television programs for the Ten Network and Channel 7, Kirsty then moved across to web producing at MSN in Australia, managing more than 30 websites focusing on news and entertainment. In 2001, Kirsty worked on Australian Survivor (Nine Network) as the Interactive Producer, produced the web and broadband content and co-authored the companion book for Random House, Australian Survivor: the official handbook. Relocating to the UK, Kirsty joined Lion Television where she produced websites, DVDs and interactive television projects for UK and US broadcasters including The Hajj website (Channel 4), which won the Royal Television Society Education Award for Lifelong Learning and Multimedia (2004), the IVCA Grand Prix Award and was also nominated for a BAFTA.Other projects include overseeing the History Detectives (PBS) website, producing broadband video content and working on a mobile video prototype with Sprint which was launched in the Oregon market. She has also produced websites and new media content for Egypt’s Golden Empire (PBS), The Roman Empire in the 1st Century A.D. (PBS), Castle (C4), Playing it Straight (C4), Karbala (C4), Name Your Price (C4), History Detectives Kids (PBS), Guns, Germs & Steel (PBS), Medici: Godfathers of the Renaissance (PBS), Lawrence of Arabia (PBS) and Martin Luther and the Reformation (PBS). Kirsty also works as a broadcast producer out of Lion’s London and New York offices, most recently on Playing It Straight (C4) and History Detectives (PBS). She has also been a mentor to the American Film Institute’s Digital Content Lab and currently sits on PACT’s Interactive Media Policy Group.
