  Colin Cameron - Managing Director, Lion Television Scotland

Colin joined Lion Television in September 2004 after a long career as a programme-maker and creative leader at the BBC. Among his credits for Lion Scotland have been Days That Shook The World, Time Commanders, Stepfamilies, Dickens In America, The Book Show, The Truth About Len Deighton, York Minster, Horizon:Saving The Twin Towers, and Indian School.

He started his career as a BBC television journalist in Glasgow before moving to London to join That's Life! as a director. He produced Everyman, Brass Tacks and Black & White and created On The Line and Heart of the Matter for which he won the United Nations Media Peace Prize. As Head of Documentary Features for BBC Television he initiated Have I Got News for You, and was responsible for many factual series including Inside Story, Pole to Pole with Michael Palin and The Second Russian Revolution.

Returning to BBC Scotland in 1991 as Head of Television, he devised the innovative Tartan Shorts film scheme, which won Scotland's first Oscar in 35 years. Other commissions included Castaway 2000, Monarch of the Glen,and Shoebox Zoo.

As Controller of Network Development for BBC Nations and Regions from 2001-2004, Colin was responsible for all network television programmes from Wales, Northern Ireland, and Scotland, including the award-winning Restoration series.

He is Chair of The Research Centre and an Honorary Professor of Film and Media Studies at the University of Stirling.
