Synopsis:
In Battle of the Books' literary courtroom, our two regular advocates, Mariella Frostrup and the Kevin Day, spark fun and intelligent debate on two books. Calling witnesses from the worlds of journalism, literature, film, and beyond each advocate tries to persuade the audience to vote for their book under the careful supervision of our 'judge' - journalist and broadcaster James Naughtie. Series 1 was under the watchful eye of Sandi Toksvig with advocates Ian McMillan and John Walsh.
